What Artificial Intelligence Actually Means: Looking At The Broader Picture

Will Murphy briefs in this video about the definition and concept of artificial intelligence. Mainly, the subject revolves around what artificial intelligence actually is and the theories and practical applications of it.

Artificial Intelligence Will Murphy AI Expert

Artificial Intelligence is defined as a computational system wherein the computer intelligently perceives data and provides automated solutions. The role of an AI engineer is to develop automated models or bots to address and solve user problems. In the present environment, Artificial Intelligence is making rapid strides and is taking over and making tasks easier, accurate and faster. The future of Artificial Intelligence is extremely limitless.

Robotics Process Animation/Automation involves automation of tasks that a human would do on the computer. Elements of Artificial Intelligence, like chat bots and advanced data analytics, are added to solve problems of the user.

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)

There are many varying definitions and different philosophies on what Artificial Intelligence actually is. A broad definition of Artificial Intelligence is that it is a computational system. It is not a natural system. The computer will perceive something about its environment and then react to that perception. It exhibits signs of intelligence and hence the name Artificial Intelligence, or AI as commonly referred to.

Role of an Artificial Intelligence Engineer and Team

Primary Function

The primary role of an AI Engineer and his Process Automation Team is to work on a client’s problem and offer an easy automated solution to it with the use of robots.

For example, a client has been doing some work manually and it is boring, repetitive and prone to mistakes. The AI engineer and his team work on automating this task with a robot. This bot is a form of intelligence. It perceives its surroundings and the environment and it reacts to it. Data input and analysis, helps the robot arrive at the solution.

Limitations and Solutions

However, traditional robotics has limitations. Robots do exactly what they are programmed to do. Therefore, the best thing to do while building a bot is to get requirements from different people in order to program the right data into the robot and tell it what to do. Another useful tip would be to build machine learning models and run them for prediction and enter classification to finesse the output and accuracy of the automated process.

Is AI the Future

Artificial Intelligence has been touted as the future right from the 1950s. This was the period when computers started being used and were slowly but surely invading work spaces. Widespread use of computers at home and in businesses followed in the decades to come.

In reality, it was not computationally or financially feasible to run AI models and things like machine learning and chat bots. These are computationally intensive, and as a result, very expensive. However, due to platforms like AWS and Azure, personal computers have become cheap. The feasibility and implementation of Artificial Intelligence has increased manifold because of this.

Artificial Intelligence can be said to be the future with absolute certainty based on the conclusions drawn from the present environment.

Advanced data analytics, machine learning, deep learning are all subsets of Artificial intelligence. These branches of study all work towards providing appropriate solutions to customer problems. Automation models are becoming more advanced and user friendly. Artificial Intelligence in the future is huge and advanced.
