Are Entrepreneurs Born Or Self-Made?

What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur? Are they made or born? Well, as per experts, it is a little bit of both but more of being ‘made’. For example, there may be an established professional who has acquired all the necessary skills to be successful as an entrepreneur. On the other hand, you may see a kid selling ice cream cones for $5 which she bought from a Cosco store for a dollar, you can say that she is an entrepreneur and a self-made entrepreneur.

However, if the person does not do anything with that personality trait, it does not make any difference for them. As per a common belief, the most important characteristic of an entrepreneur implies that people who face a challenge with a particular skill often go further on the path of success when compared to those who are naturally gifted. Moreover, it comes down to having to prove something in some places and in some situation, having to prove something to yourself which makes a difference. This is, in fact, an imperative characteristic of an entrepreneur.

There are many famous personalities who have showcased this particular characteristic of an entrepreneur. One more relevant example can be of Richard Branson, a successful businessman, an author, and a philanthropist. He was dyslexic and thus he had to face many challenges at school. Another example can be of Albert Einstein who himself faced many learning challenges at the school. Moreover, since he was born a century ago, he did not have much support as well.

However, this does not mean that you need to be deficient in some way or other to become a successful entrepreneur. This simply implies that it is not always that an entrepreneur is born. An entrepreneur can be made as well. You need not to have those potential abilities to become an entrepreneur but can acquire the talents needed to excel as an entrepreneur.

In conclusion, it can be clearly stated that it is not necessary that an entrepreneur is always born with all the required skills. In fact, a person can also acquire the characteristics of an entrepreneur by learning about requisites. There have been many examples in our society where people have made efforts and learnt the tactics required to excel as an entrepreneur.
