About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Unity Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing complex game logic for augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality systems aimed at Navy training scenarios. Your work will directly contribute to creating realistic simulations and interactive training tools that enhance the operational readiness of military personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Unity development, C#, and 3D application design, with a passion for leveraging immersive technologies to solve real-world problems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support national defense initiatives, work with cutting-edge AR/VR hardware such as Meta Quest and HoloLens, and collaborate with subject matter experts to deliver impactful training solutions.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience with Unity, 3D, and C#
- Experience designing and implementing Virtual and/or Augmented Reality applications in Unity for Meta Quest, HoloLens, or equivalent headsets
- Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using C# within the Unity framework
- Good troubleshooting skills with knowledge of identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles
- Prior experience with DoD projects, specifically VR simulation training for the Navy, is preferred
- Willingness to conduct on-site visits with customers when necessary (primarily a remote role)
- Candidate must possess an active, DoD-issued Secret security clearance; sponsorship available for the right candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, game development, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Proficiency with Unity, C#, Python, Docker, MRTK, Vuforia, Photon Engine, GitLab or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop high-fidelity, team-based Naval training simulations
- Implement best practices for Unity game development and stay current with industry trends
- Utilize AR/VR SDKs such as MRTK, OpenXR, or equivalent to support immersive experiences
- Support multiplayer networking features using Photon Engine
- Design and implement gameplay mechanics, user interfaces, and session management functionalities
- Integrate 3D assets, animations, and multimedia content into Unity applications
- Develop and maintain database schemas to support application data needs
- Create and verify Unity test cases within a CI/CD pipeline to ensure quality and stability
- Containerize web services to support multimedia hosting and data analytics
- Participate in code reviews, team collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives
