About The Role

Ford Motor Company is seeking a versatile and skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of full-stack development, with responsibilities spanning backend services, APIs, and front-end interfaces. The successful candidate will work with technologies such as Node.js, NestJS, Java Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript to develop scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions. The role involves deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), automating infrastructure with Terraform, and streamlining CI/CD pipelines using Tekton.

Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in system design discussions, conduct code reviews, and contribute to best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full-stack development
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, including frameworks such as Node.js, NestJS, and React
• Strong experience with Java Spring Boot for backend services
• Hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and container orchestration tools like GKE
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Tekton or similar tools, including implementing quality gates
• Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
• Understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and automated testing
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and APIs leveraging Node.js, NestJS, and Java Spring Boot
• Build responsive, user-friendly front-end web applications using React and TypeScript, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems
• Design and implement scalable microservices and cloud-native applications aligned with Fords architectural standards
• Deploy and manage applications on GCP utilizing managed services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage
• Construct and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Tekton, incorporating automated quality gates for security, code quality, and policy compliance
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform within an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, UX/UI, DevOps, and QA to deliver reliable, maintainable, and secure software solutions
• Conduct code reviews, participate in system design discussions, and contribute to best practice documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to software deployment and cloud infrastructure
• Maintain technical documentation supporting development, deployment, and operational processes
• Ensure adherence to security policies and industry standards, maintaining compliance with Fords frameworks
