Senior Data Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Eligibility: U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders only
Role Overview
The Senior Data Engineer leads complex data engineering efforts for Treasury's migration from legacy SAS platforms to Snowflake on AWS, owning pipeline design, optimization, and technical leadership while ensuring Federal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable SAS to Snowflake data migration pipelines
Lead ingestion into Snowflake using optimized staging, partitioning, and file formats
Develop ETL workflows using AWS Glue, Python, and SQL
Optimize Snowflake performance, cost, and storage
Implement incremental and batch processing strategies
Perform data profiling, reconciliation, and migration validation
Enforce security controls aligned with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53
Review code, mentor Data Engineers, and enforce best practices
Collaborate with Data Architects, security teams, and stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience migrating SAS-based platforms to Snowflake or cloud data warehouses
Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake
Strong AWS experience including S3, Glue, IAM, and Lambda
Expertise in SQL and Python
Experience with large-scale enterprise data migrations
Familiarity with CI/CD and automation
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting Treasury or Federal programs
AWS Certification preferred (AWS Data Analytics, Solutions Architect, or Developer)
Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
Knowledge of Parquet and ORC data formats
Snowflake SnowPro certification a plus
Active Public Trust clearance is plus, however client will sponsor clearance for qualified candidates
