Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Android Developer (10+ years) to join our engineering team for the App Sparkle project. This role requires a top-tier mobile engineer who can contribute immediately, work independently, and deliver high-quality Android solutions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in building scalable, secure, and high-performance Android applications.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and deployment of advanced Android applications.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and IoT teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Integrate Android applications with REST APIs, cloud services, and IoT-driven features.
  • Own end-to-end delivery, from architecture to coding, testing, debugging, and optimization.
  • Ensure application performance, reliability, and responsiveness at scale.
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers if needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide quick resolutions.

Required Skills and experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on Android development experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin (primary) and Java (secondary).
  • Strong experience with:
  • Android Studio
  • Jetpack Components (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, Navigation)
  • MVVM / MVP / Clean Architecture patterns
  • Coroutines, Flows
  • Deep experience integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp, Dagger/Hilt).
  • Strong background in UI/UX implementation, custom views, animations, and modern Material Design guidelines.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of performance tuning, memory optimization, and debugging at scale.
  • Experience with apps involving IoT, Bluetooth, real-time sync, or hardware interaction is a strong plus.
  • Must be able to start quickly and take ownership from day one.
