About The RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our Fraud Data team at Plaid. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable machine learning infrastructure that underpins our industry-leading fraud detection products. You will lead initiatives to enhance model deployment, monitoring, and observability frameworks, ensuring the robustness and reliability of our fraud prevention systems. Collaborating closely with ML Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering teams, you will play a key role in shaping the technical vision and long-term strategy of the Fraud Data organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-impact problems in a remote setting, contributing to the safety and security of millions of users worldwide.
Qualifications- 8+ years of total professional experience in software engineering or data science.
- At least 5 years of experience building and deploying production machine learning systems.
- Proven expertise in machine learning infrastructure and operations.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, Spark, SageMaker, Airflow, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience in fraud detection, risk modeling, or financial security domains.
- Strong understanding of scalable system design and data pipeline architecture.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
- Background in graph machine learning or related advanced techniques is a plus.
Responsibilities- Design and develop scalable machine learning infrastructure to support Plaids fraud detection systems.
- Lead the evolution and enhancement of model deployment, monitoring, and observability frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including ML Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to defining the technical strategy and long-term vision for the Fraud Data team.
- Ensure the robustness, reliability, and security of fraud detection models and systems.
