Senior Application Engineer Custom Automation


Winston-Salem / Greensboro / High Point, NC | Full-Time | Minimal Travel


Im currently seeking a Senior Application Engineer for a full-time opportunity with a leading custom automation company based in the Triad area of North Carolina. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong concepting and quoting skills who enjoys solving complex problems and working closely with customers and internal teamswith minimal travel required.


Relocation will be provided if necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of automation concepts and prepare detailed cost estimates
  • Support concept layouts and design using CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Collaborate with sales, customers, and vendors to define and document project scopes
  • Present technical solutions clearly and confidently in both written and verbal formats
  • Play a key role in improving quoting processes and mentoring junior team members


Key Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 710+ years of experience in custom automation or machine design
  • 5+ years leading concepting and quoting efforts
  • Hands-on CAD experience and mechanically inclined
  • Background in discrete automation, including robotics and ancillary systems
