Overview:

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Business Analyst to support an enterprise-wide Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) transformation program across Pharmaceutical Sciences and R&D Biology domains. This role is critical to the implementation of Dotmatics ELN, Luma Lab Connect IDC, and Global Sample Management capabilities.


The ideal candidate will possess deep domain knowledge in small molecule development, biology, and preclinical research workflows, and will be adept at translating complex scientific needs into structured, Agile-ready requirements.


This hybrid role involves close collaboration with scientists, informatics teams, and implementation partners to ensure that ELN templates and workflows effectively support scientific, regulatory, and data integrity goals. Occasional on-site presence (monthly or quarterly) may be required for key releases or workshops.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Partner with stakeholders in Process Chemistry, Formulations, Analytical Development, Biology, and Preclinical Research to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
  • Collaborate with scientists in Research Biology, In Vitro & In Vivo Biology, and Pharmacology to map current workflows, identify gaps, and improve ELN usage.
  • Translate scientific processes into Agile user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scripts.
  • Work with Dotmatics ELN implementation teams, ontology experts, and data integration teams to deliver and refine ELN solutions.
  • Support configuration and testing of ELN templates to ensure alignment with workflow requirements, sample tracking, and data compliance standards.
  • Prioritize and manage user feedback to improve system usability and scientific value.
  • Identify and escalate risks, scope changes, and technical blockers when necessary.



Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Computational Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Scientist in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Direct experience with Dotmatics ELN implementation, enhancement, or migration (required).
  • Strong domain expertise in one or more of the following: Process Chemistry, Formulation Development, Analytical Development, Biology, and Preclinical Research.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SmartSheets.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with data integrity standards, scientific ontologies, and regulatory documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and other collaboration tools.
