The Assistant Product Manager is responsible for supporting the product marketing function, helping to deliver innovative products that increase our market share and profitability in the United States and Canada.
This role includes responsibility for supporting the new product development (NPD) process from start to finish, managing changes to product set ups through back office systems and producing product support documents. The successful candidate will have a high level of organization, have an eye for detail and accuracy and be committed to work to deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Product Portfolio Support
Gather competitive product data, to identify portfolio gaps and maintain current positioning
Manage the product set up process, as well as the product data across platforms and databases.
Follow support internal processes: budget management, sku data maintenance, NPD processes, field support
Support the product life cycle management process, including ongoing sku rationalization
Prepare ad hoc reporting as requested
Support on product quality issues as needed
Manage and communicate third party testing processes
Product Information
Supply product information for online (i.e. websites, STIBO/STEP, SW Mall) and proactively maintain to ensure accuracy of product information
Product information sign-off for all content where products are featured
Internal Cross-Functional Relationship Building
Build excellent relationships internally to influence cross functional teams (Global Supply Chain, R&D, Sales, Finance, etc)
Ensure excellent marketing department relationships to guide and drive the right strategic direction re: NPD, presentation materials, etc
Ensure that communication and processes are open and efficient

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
a. Product marketing experience
b. Ability to manage projects and take internal customers with you i.e. effective interpersonal skills.
c. Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects and demanding deadlines
d. Ability to quickly adapt and optimize the use of new technology and systems.
e. Experience of working in the DIY Sector and paint / woodcare an advantage
f. Must hold a US driving license
