About the Role:

Recruits Lab is partnering with a leading life sciences/biotech company to find a Machine Learning Scientist who will leverage AI and ML to drive innovation in drug discovery, genomics, and biomedical research. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of biotech, applying cutting-edge machine learning techniques to real-world biological and clinical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement machine learning and deep learning models for biological, clinical, and chemical datasets.
  • Analyze large-scale omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) to extract actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and clinical teams to translate ML findings into experiments and actionable strategies.
  • Optimize and deploy ML pipelines for scalability and reproducibility.
  • Stay current with the latest ML and AI techniques relevant to life sciences.
  • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: PhD or MS in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years applying machine learning or deep learning in life sciences, healthcare, or related domains.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with biological data types (genomics, proteomics, imaging, clinical data).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in drug discovery pipelines, biomarker discovery, or precision medicine.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals in bioinformatics, ML, or computational biology.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and big data platforms (AWS, GCP).
