Overview
The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet's Division of Information Technology and Support Services is seeking a Business Analyst to support IT initiatives through effective requirement gathering, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and continuous improvement. The role supports internal IT projects that improve systems and services delivered to Kentucky citizens and businesses.
Position: Contract Hybrid (with potential transition to full remote)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PMs to manage project workflows and stakeholder communication
- Elicit and document business requirements (features, user stories, acceptance criteria)
- Maintain and prioritize product backlogs
- Analyze and enhance existing business processes
- Act as liaison between stakeholders and development teams
- Create mockups, interaction models, and data models
- Support sprint planning and development iterations
- Lead UAT and maintain testing plans
- Provide post-deployment support and drive continuous system improvement
Requirement Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 3 years of experience in business analysis and IT requirements facilitation
- Experience in Agile development environments
- Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills
- Experience with business process modeling, UI mockups, and data modeling
- Self-motivated, team player with ability to work under deadlines
Candidate Details
- Must be a critical thinker with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working with stakeholders, development teams, and in Agile sprints
- Experienced in documenting requirements, creating mockups, and driving UAT
