Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Data Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure data technologies to join global manufacturing team. This role will have proven hands-on experience build and maintain cloud-based infrastructure standards with a focus on scalability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise with Microsoft Azure data technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality standard solutions in a fast-paced cross-functional infrastructure and application team.

Position: Cloud Data Engineer(Azure Data/Fabric Focus)

Duration: 6- months contract with option extend or to hire

Location: 100 % remote

Key Responsibilities:

Perform data engineering duties with a comprehensive understanding of data platform architecture, including Microsoft Fabric, Fabric capacities, and Microsoft OneLake unified data lake solution.

Proven hands-on expertise in Power BI, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Explorer, and Spark Pools.

Proven hands-on experience with Data Factory, Data Flows, Copy Command, and ADLS.

Contribute to standards design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.

Build and manage data pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).

Leverage Azure Cognitive Services, including Machine Learning, Azure AI Studio, OpenAI, and Bots, to integrate AI capabilities.

Configure and monitor streaming services such as Event Hubs and Stream Analytics.

Manage and secure cloud resources, including Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Azure Networking, and security configurations.

Collaborate with infrastructure and data teams to align cloud infrastructure with business objectives.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

Advanced knowledge of modern data pipelines and techniques (lakehouses, medallion architecture, etc.). Proven experience managing and deploying said solutions in a large company a strong plus.

Advanced knowledge of Snowflake architecture, Apache Iceberg tables, and Delta Parquet data formats.

Experience configuring OneLake security for secure access and setting up data shortcuts/mirroring between Fabric and Snowflake for bidirectional data access.

Strong grasp of performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.

Solid working knowledge of database technologies including SQL Server, CosmosDB, Postgres, and MySQL.

Deploy and manage containers using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Registry (ACR), and Azure Container Instances (ACI).

Working knowledge of data movement tools such as Informatica, Qlik, etc. a plus.

Other Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or operations.

Experience with cloud application architecture and migration of on-premises applications to the cloud.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Certifications and Education:

Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may also be considered.

Preferred Skills:

Industry related data certifications such as, Azure Data Engineer Expert, Snowflake certifications, and similar expert level certifications
