The company is said to be considering cutting about five percent of its 14,000 employees, although it has not yet made an official announcement. Rivian's plan could lead to 700 job losses for its employees.
Mass layoffs are targeted at employees whose jobs were created as the company scaled up, but who aren't involved with manufacturing.
