San Francisco grocery delivery company Imperfect Foods plans to vacate its 38,000-square-feet warehouse in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood later this year, cutting about 50 jobs at what's served as its headquarters.
In a mass layoff notice this month citing "shifting market dynamics," Imperfect Foods said it expects to lay off a few dozen warehouse associates, several supervisors and a regional director of operations at the 1616 Donner Ave. fulfillment center by mid-September. It becomes the latest venture-backed startup to adjust as a possible recession looms and high-pandemic trends — such as the grocery delivery boom — have begun to level off.
