Position Title : Data Analyst
Job Description : UMC Physicians is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of healthcare data systems, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
The Data Analyst will play a key role in improving patient outcomes, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities :
Analyze healthcare data from various sources including electronic health
records (EHR), claims data and patient surveys.
Develop and implement data collection methodologies, ensuring accuracy,
completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Clean, validate, and preprocess data to prepare it for analysis using
statistical software and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or
Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to identify trends,
patterns, and correlations in healthcare data.
Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key
findings and insights to stakeholders including clinicians, administrators,
and executives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, clinical operations,
and quality improvement to address specific business needs and strategic
initiatives.
Conduct ad hoc analyses and provide analytical support for special
projects, research studies, and performance improvement initiatives.
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
in healthcare analytics, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance
data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a
related field. Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience as a data analyst, preferably in a
healthcare setting.
Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, R, or other relevant languages.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations such as HIPAA,
HL7, and Meaningful Use.
Experience with healthcare databases and data warehousing concepts
SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
translate technical findings into non-technical language.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or
QlikView.
Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques and machine learning
algorithms.
Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare delivery processes.
Environmental Conditions :
Works in well-lighted, heated and ventilated building. Exposure to blood borne pathogens are of low risk.
Physical Requirements :
Work is of medium demand; walking and sitting most of the time while on duty. Adequate hand / eye coordination and fine motor skills required.
Visual acuity and writing skills necessary for factual documentation. Hours may vary to accommodate the needs of the corporation.
