Clinical Data is a fast growing, strategic asset for UnitedHealth Group. Spearheading new and innovative uses of clinical data will have a strong positive impact on UHG’s member and patient experience as well as Enterprise overall. Join Enterprise Clinical Data Strategy (ECDS) team to be on the leading edge of driving adoption and uses of clinical data across the UHG.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • This position, which is part of ECDS team, will focus on supporting strategy and business case development by securing, organizing, and extracting insights from internal and external data to provide quantitative support required for advancing ECDS agenda
  • Individual in this role will work across the enterprise at various levels of the organization as well as outside of the organization via public sources to identify, secure and analyze necessary data and information to support various ECDS efforts
  • This individual would be expected to not only gather and manipulate the data but also to identify what data is require solving a particular problem and work independently to execute on the effort
  • May use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in health insurance, provider or related industries
  • Solid understanding of health care industry for both provider and health insurer
  • Knowledge of common database query languages for both SQL and NO-SQL databases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of statistical methods
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and data visualization tools
  • Technology background
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous note taking skills and attention to detail
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to navigate matrixed organizations with minimal support
  • Ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to perform complex conceptual analyses
  • Ability to work independently in a fluid, ambiguous environment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
