Job Description

Data is an integral part of TIDALs success, and the Data and Analytics team provides the ability for our company to deliver several key initiatives for both the Artist and Fan platforms.

We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst who will facilitate better communication and improved collaboration between our data engineering and business teams, helping our business partners find patterns and make data-driven decisions. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the Product, Engineering, Editorial, Marketing and Partnerships teams to help ensure that we are delivering the best products and experiences for users across our Fan and Artist platforms.

Responsibilities

You Will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of business and product needs by building strong relationships across stakeholder teams

  • Partner with stakeholders to develop success criteria for key initiatives, create and implement tracking plans for post-launch monitoring, and provide expert guidance by interpreting outcomes and producing actionable insights

  • Own, coordinate, and solve complex, cross-functional problems with data-driven analysis

  • Communicate analysis and decisions to high-level stakeholders and executives in verbal, visual, and written contexts

  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day analytics support to partner teams, develop tools and resources to empower data access and self-service so your expertise can be leveraged where it is most impactful

  • Lead strategic analytical projects that provide relevant insights or promote operational change. You will partner with senior leadership to accomplish these projects, providing analytical horsepower to high-level projects

  • Perform ad hoc analyses of business performance trends to inform executive decisions and provide ad hoc reporting in a visualization platform.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of analytical experience in data analytics, data science, machine learning, statistics, or computer science

  • Advanced to expert level SQL proficiency and have familiarity with concepts beyond querying (schema and ETL design, and query optimization)

  • Proven experience and knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence, with emphasis on data architecture, sourcing, reporting and analytics through the entire project lifecycle

  • Experience with business intelligence reporting and visualization platforms (e.g. Looker, ThoughtSpot, Tableau)

  • Demonstrable understanding of development processes and agile methodologies

  • Strong stakeholder partnership skills experience clarifying business goals and translating them methodically into technical requirements, leading data-driven cross-functional projects with stakeholders in a variety of disciplines

  • Fluency with statistics techniques to structure analyses and provide insights (e.g. statistical tests, AB testing)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams

  • Familiarity with scripting/programming for data mining and modeling is a plus

  • Experience in applying data-backed heuristics to solve practical product problems such as customer churn, engagement modeling, or behavioral clustering

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $138,200 - USD $169,000
Zone B: USD $128,500 - USD $157,100
Zone C: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
Zone D: USD $110,600 - USD $135,200

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
