PRA Group is seeking an energetic and passionate data science team member for the Digital Group. This position will be a proactive contributor in designing developing and evolving high quality, usable and extensive analytics solutions. Under supervision, perform ad-hoc and routine tasking. Working closely with the Data and Analytics organization, the Data Analyst will support Digital, to assist in the performance and lifecycle of customer accounts, as well as contribute to new and existing analytical studies. This position will document key protocols, procedures, and system infrastructure as part of an ongoing data stewardship/governance effort for the Digital team.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years related Data Analyst experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Python scripting is required, preferably with Scikit/Scipy libraries
  • SQL experience is also required.
  • Ability to write and troubleshoot stored procedures in MS Sql server (TSQL and or PLSQL experience preferred).
  • Able to Create, Modify, and Execute SQL Server scheduled jobs & SQL Server stored procedures
  • Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills using data analysis and utilizing excel or other statistical packages
  • Ability to write complex join, union, pivot, common table expression query statements for complex data calculations using time window functions in SQL.
  • Ability to create, develop and modify reports based upon operational requirements
  • Proficient at developing and maintaining reporting packages through visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
  • High level analytical problem-solving skills
  • High level of analytics autonomy
  • Must have effective organizational, time-management and high attention to detail.
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong excel skills (charts/graphs/formulas/macros)
  • Basic version control knowledge. (Github)
  • Experience in NPL markets or comparable work experience preferred
  • Bachelors Degree required in a technical discipline

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis & reporting using Oracle SQL, MS SQL, and other statistical tools
  • Oversight of complex SQL Stored Procedure processes
  • Use data to develop and optimize strategies and processes, increase profits, efficiency, quality, or security, and reduce costs.
  • Enhance the monitoring and control mechanisms to strategy owned processes to ensure we maintain compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Policy and Procedure documentation along with change management and testing documentation as required.
  • Present analytical study/research findings to other stakeholders within the D&A department when required.
  • Dig into data and raw information through statistical analysis to discover trends and patterns that can be used to extract valuable business insights
  • Manage multiple projects in addition to day to day process tasks management on larger value items.
  • Reviewing and improving analytics processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and security
  • Maintain and oversee the performance of champion / challenger testing processes as it relates to existing activities or other alternative strategies being developed.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for showing activity performance as it relates to strategy processes being maintained by the department.
  • Identify issues and process improvement opportunities and work with other areas of the business to analysis, report and
  • resolve discrepancies (including taking ownership of actions/projects where appropriate)
  • Partner with compliance to ensure processes are aligned with regulatory and risk mitigation criteria.
  • Investigate inventory gaps and areas for better optimization to inform operations, fulfillment, or model/segmentation.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for one area of strategy
