The Business Analyst plays a critical role in the delivery of timely and professional customer service to the organizations internal and external clients. As a key member of MCEDCs business development team, the Business Analyst is responsible for managing and supporting the departments customer service, database, and event management needs. The Business Analyst serves as the primary contact for business assistance requests and inquiries received via mail, phone, email, and website; maintains the teams Salesforce database and assists with the management of data needed to satisfy the organizations reporting requirements.
Essential Functions/Duties/Tasks:
Become familiar with the full range of economic development assistance provided by MCEDC and its partner organizations, and identify and develop tools and resources for businesses and community partners
Serve as the primary point of contact for business development related communications received via email, mail or telephone and respond to or route the request to the appropriate team member or resource
Assist the business development team with the coordination and scheduling of business visits and conference/tradeshow participation
Work across departments to obtain data and resources needed to inform the business development strategy and related tasks
Assemble information packets, collateral and other resources to be used during business visits and/or to support conference participation
Update and maintain Salesforce database and conduct routine audits of client information to ensure accuracy, completeness of records, and timely entry
Prepare and distribute dashboard reports as needed to inform strategic decisions and satisfy reporting requirements
Coordinate and implement projects for the business development team as assigned
Demonstrate initiative by suggesting solutions to issues and/or new ideas to improve process and collaborate with co-workers to successfully implement approved changes
Represent MCEDC at select tradeshows and conferences and conduct follow-up tasks as necessary
Research and maintain events calendar for the business development department
Assist with all aspects of event management
Process MOVE applications and track program funding
Other duties as requested
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and the ability to analyze data essential to economic development projects
Superb communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen actively and present clearly and effectively in positive or negative situations, and to respond well to questions
Writes clearly and informatively and varies writing style to meet needs
Strong team player
Ability to build relationships with both public and private sector groups
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to meet tight deadlines within budgetary constraints, and to handle multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously
Hold a valid U.S. drivers license
Hold a U.S. Passport
Preferred education and experience:
Bachelors degree
Working knowledge of Salesforce
Experience developing and maintaining customer service databases
Foreign language fluencyideally, applicants will be proficient in one or more languages that are relevant in the local business community
Description of physical demands and work environment:
Must be able to travel throughout the county to companies, partner organizations, meetings, and events
Must be able to travel outside of the region to events and trade shows
Must be able to use office equipment and computers
Position may require moderate lifting of supplies and materials from time to time
The working environment is a general office environment with a moderate noise level
