The Senior Manufacturing Development Engineer is recognized as a subject matter expert in applying world class manufacturing techniques, statistics, management techniques and demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize, direct & complete programs of major scope & significance.


Serves as a technical SME to lead technical initiatives and strategy development and has demonstrated leadership capabilities as well as ability to integrate cross-functional activities & apply broad business knowledge to set and execute strategic direction.


Functions as an integral member and leader of a team developing and validating world-class component manufacturing & assembly operations that insure product quality, cost & performance objectives are met while concurrently providing design, quality & financial input.


In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute product family level cost reduction strategies and review / develop robust project plans.
  • Provide technical direction and support in supplier negotiations.
  • Lead cost reduction opportunities while maintaining and controlling the design integrity of released products.
  • Lead internal and external ideation efforts in relation to cost improvement projects and product redesign efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and drive execution of a portfolio of Cost Improvement Projects.
  • Serve as a team leader or mentor of work teams of less experienced engineers.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering or related degree. A Masters Degree is a plus.
  • A 5+ years of new product development experience or equivalent/relevant experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of & experience in world-class manufacturing technologies, statistics & judgment to independently resolve major technical issues & establish new methods, controls & procedures is preferred.
  • Experience in defining project needs, developing project timelines, and manage budgetary constraints are required.
  • Experience in monitoring workflow across project teams, along with cross functional collaboration and management are required.
  • Experience in material selection, ability to validate design and manufacturing concepts is preferred.
  • Experience leading project teams and application of different types of manufacturing, mechanisms, materials, tolerancing and GD&T is required.
  • Experience in component cost reduction methodology is desired.
  • Experience with project management is desired.
  • The primary location will be based in Cincinnati, OH. Open to considering talent across the US.
  • May require up to 10% travel.
