Senior Software Engineer

As a developer, you will use the latest technologies related to on-premise work and migrate our current apps to the cloud. You will focus primarily on the Oracle backend database components but will also start the work of migrating certain applications over to the cloud. Come help us on this journey.


The Senior Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. This role includes developing, helping oversee testing, debugging and develops fixes that is mainly project related. Research complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software-related issues. Begins to influence the department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. You will work with a diverse team of systems and software engineers responsible for the sustainment of an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

+ 5+ years of related work experience required in software development

+ Experience with relational database concepts, data warehousing, and ETL concepts.

+ Experience in the use of Oracle & PL/SQL

+ Experience working in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid data environments

+ Experience using Agile development

+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree

+ on-premise to cloud migration experience

+ Experience working in the medical/healthcare field

**Additional Information**

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

Work-At-Home Requirements

* WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

* A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

* Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

* A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
