Diversity + Collaboration = Great InnovationHitachi Energy is seeking a Commodity Trading & Risk Management Software Product Manager for its Broomfield - Colorado location. This role is responsible for long-term profitable growth of the Commodity Trading & Risk Management related businesses by developing and managing it through all its life cycle phases - according to market needs and Product Group strategy and targets.Your responsibilities Leads market intelligence analysis related to energy market investment trends - technology shifts and policy direction. Understands and defines current market segmentation and related products and service positioning. Identifies potential gaps in portfolio - both against competition and new market opportunities. Owns the technical and market specification for the products and services and determines a products and services business plan that supports sustainable growth. Leads life cycle management process - analyses current products - defines and tracks performance metrics - plans appropriate measures (e.g. enhancements - costs reductions - phase-outs) and makes decisions on products and services obsolescence and end-of-life to ensure current and future market requirements are met and maximize profitability. Acts as interface between external market and internal functions (e.g. Sales - Ops - R&D) - forecasting markets and technology direction and providing inputs to ensure bandwidth and skill sets are aligned. Defines new product and services - sets technical - price - cost and capital expenditure targets. Contributes to development of new portfolios by leading customers need and value analysis - planning the roadmap to create maximum value - follow-up of product and service portfolio performance. Prioritizes new products and service development projects with responsibility for achievement of targets and coordinating cross-functional teams. Owns and approves defined product and services development process stage gates. Initiates and drives product market communication strategy - including product launch planning and implementation. Manages different channel to market scenarios in coordination with channel partners and Marketing & Sales to ensure best market coverage. Defines product customer value proposition per segment and channel and ensures clear communication to channels and users - to deliver clear product positioning within the portfolio with defined values per product line. Offering to market & pricing management: responsible for product profitability and margin. Drives the annual business planning process and facilitates agreement between sales demand and supply. Monitors global sales target fulfilment and takes action as appropriate. In preparation for a new launch - and otherwise as required - defines pricing strategies. Develops and maintains global reference price list. Process development and training: Continuously develops product management processes and tools - including interfaces to other key functions and develops sales and tendering tools to support the Sales organization. Initiates creation of external and internal product training modules and programs. Initiates and drives cross functional and cross-organization product and solution innovation teams - monitors development of all standards and market trends and provides inputs to R&D for patent screening process and intellectual property rights protection. People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized - staffed - skilled and directed. Guides - motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policiesYour background Bachelors degree in Management - Engineering - Economics or related business or technical area and a minimum of 10+ years experience in the energy markets specifically focused on the commodity trading and risk management solutions. Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Post graduate degree and experience is a plus. Experience also required with Renewable Energy Credits - Emissions tracking and trading - multi commodity - Independent System Operators. Strong collaboration skills working in a team environment.
