Business Data Analyst (Business Info Consultant)

Location: Hybrid, 0-3 times/month in office

The Business Data Analyst is responsible for serving as an expert in data analysis, reporting and formulating recommendations, and providing guidance to other data analysts. Primary duties may include but are not limited to creating and maintaining databases to track business performance. Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures. Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies. Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports. This role may require taking business issues and devising the best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools. May make recommendations based on data analysis. Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership, or external customers. Data analysis and reporting encompass a much higher level of complexity.

How you will make an impact:

  • Responsible for developing and executing complex data mining analyses, which involves the design and execution of programs to extract and report on data.

  • Use database programming languages to extract data using Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • Use Advanced MS Excel like Pivots, V-Lookups, Graphs, and more

  • Responsible for regulatory and compliance reporting needs and is experienced with leading regulatory requirements calls and developing reports based on requirements.

  • Program and write queries and build reports (Tableau and/or SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS).

  • Establish and maintain strong knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, related programming languages, and data integrity issues.

  • Lead multiple or large market implementations

  • Maintain active relationships with customers, and the leadership team to determine business requirements and lead technical/ non-technical meetings.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Highly Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experiences:

  • 3+ years of database development and/or data analytics, with complex data mining analysis.

  • 3+ years of Advanced Microsoft Excel analytics, including PIVOTs, V-Lookup, and Charts/Graphs

  • 3+ years of experience with MS SQL Server 2012 or higher platform.

  • 3+ years of experience with report development using Tableau and SSRS.

  • Excellent communication skills, project management/implementation, interpersonal and organizational skills. With the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels within the organization.

  • Experience with the following: PC, spreadsheet, database skills, regulatory reporting, and as well as experience in standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with the following technologies: Advanced MS Excel, T-SQL, SSRS, Bit Bucket, JIRA, Confluence, and Agile along with technical leadership abilities to drive the teams technical modernization/automation

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $82,880 to $149,184.
