As a Front-End Engineer, this role includes working closely with a team of engineers to drive delivery excellence, partner with business and other IT leaders to build digital assets, provide expert level support to resolve complex issues and provide RCA, identify gaps in current digital ecosystems, and provide solutions to enhance overall performance. This individual will collaborate with digital leaders, business partners, and IT colleagues to deliver business growth and great customer experiences that differentiate CVS in the market, while ensuring efficient, effective, and safe product development.

  • Work with Product and UX teams to be part of a team of engineers in developing elegant code, state-of-the-art customer experiences and build industry leading digital experiences.
  • Collaborate to drive solutions that reduce cost and time to market.
  • Participate in application development through the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) model, including communication across development teams and product owners.
  • Participate in agile scrum team activities including sprint planning, grooming, daily standups, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Develop applications/web services and cloud native apps using React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux) or Next.js, JavaScript (including DOM manipulation), and the JavaScript object model.
  • Build and deploy services using Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, etc., as part of the CI/CD process.
  • Responsibilities include end-to-end application delivery through coordination with all necessary teams for production deployment.
  • Continuous monitoring of application health and KPIs, supporting triage of production issues when needed.
  • Collaborate in troubleshooting complex data, features, service, platform issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues.
  • Be an advocate of security best practices, champion and support the importance of security within engineering, partnering with digital and enterprise security teams and digital product owners to ensure compliance.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 60,000
Maximum: 128,700

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications
1+ years of overall IT/Digital experience in software development working on enterprise-class applications.
1+ years working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON, with a good understanding of React.js and its core principles developing responsive design web pages.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively handle and protect sensitive and confidential company information.
  • Good understanding of ADA and other regulatory compliances including PCI, PII and PHI.
  • Promote proper implementation of agile processes, techniques and principles.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and build automation tools such as Jenkins.
  • Proactive attitude, highly self-motivated, and able to work independently without constant oversight.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively in visual, verbal, and written forms.
  • Experience with libraries, tools, and frameworks such as Node.js and Angular.
  • Knowledge with Cloud Platforms GCP (preferred), AWS, Azure.
  • Ability with handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to thrive working in a highly iterative, agile, and open team environment.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
  • Experience with unit testing and TDD development a plus.
  • Working experience with IT security best practices.

Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience
