Position InformationPosition Information...Vacancy Number:S-00941Position Title:Data AnalystClassification Title:AnalystDepartment:Enrollment ManagementEmployment Type:Full-TimeDuties and Responsibilities:The Office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairsseeks a Data Analyst to support the instructional mission of the university and to promote positive student and customer relations by providing analytical and solution development support for the assigned department or unit. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for designing and supporting data reports - developing - as well as - maintaining new and existing data workflows.Comprehensive tasks performed: Plan - develop - and organize data in a meaningful and useful manner based on departmental needs and supervisor guidance. Retrieve and analyze information/data to support both regular and ad hoc reports. Consult with management or requesting unit to determine the type - scope - and purpose of analysis. Provide leadership to educate and advise office personnel - supervisors and managers on issues related to data collection - data maintenance - analytical methodology and use of results. Formulate test plans - coordinate and perform testing for data request and data reports. Collect - evaluate - and report data. Document performance; maintain and assist in the interpretation of reports. Develop data reports and visual representation using different tools. Identify and resolve production and/or development problems of data or reports. Assist the Office of Institutional Effectiveness with compilation of periodic reports for external agencies such as IPEDS and Alabama Commission on Higher Education.Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft development systems - i.e. - SQL Knowledge of basic computer applications Basic knowledge of Banner and integrated systems Knowledge of analytical methods and problem analysis techniques Knowledge of applicable institutional practices and procedures Organizational skills Analytical skills Ability to speak in public - lead small group meetings - and make presentations Interpersonal skills - Written communication skills and problem analysis skills Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and respond to multiple competing demands Ability to organize data in a meaningful and easily understood formatMinimum Qualifications:A Bachelors degree in a related area with two (2) years of experience in higher education is required.Job Open Date:09/16/2022This posting will remain open until closed:YesJob Close Date:Salary Band:106Special Instructions to Applicants:Screening of all applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
